Like most health and wellness coaches, I found my way into this work after struggling with my own ongoing health battles.
As a teen and young adult, I was constantly unhappy with my body. I would restrict calories and allow my self-worth to be determined by the number on the scale, which led to bingeing cycles and feeling crappy and drained. I was forcing myself to exercise to burn fat and earn my calories. All while being totally unaware that these actions were actually harming my health and certainly not helping me to achieve my goals.
I felt run down, tired and deflated. I saw countless doctors and specialists who mindlessly prescribed antibiotics, painkillers and the contraceptive pill. So much energy and time went into trying to ‘fix’ my physical symptoms, without anyone looking at the underlying cause, let alone addressing the clear emotional aspect…
It was only after dedicating my education and career to learning about health and wellbeing, how to prevent illness rather than wait to treat the symptoms and how to fuel, rest & move effectively to support the female body that my life drastically switched. I put in the work to heal myself emotionally & physically and I am now on a mission to help as many women as I can to do the same.
I started In Wellness after repeatedly seeing the same struggles and pain points in the hundreds of professional women I coached while working in private healthcare.
These ambitious women know they have the potential to be at the top of their game, yet their health holds them back.
They feel tired and drained, relying on coffee to get through the day. Their self-esteem & confidence is stifled by their body image and the diets and workout plans they’ve tried have been unsustainable & unsuccessful. They’re stressed, overwhelmed and unsure what the answer is.
